Ah, Jeremy! (aka One Very Sinful Suitor)

A few days ago, Heroes and Heartbreakers revealed the cover for the first book of Sabrina Jeffries‘ upcoming Sinful Suitors series, The Art of Sinning. But, of course, you may all remember Jeremy – the very sexy scene stealer – from How the Scoundrel Seduces.

However, if you haven’t had a chance to look at the cover or read the back blurb, hakuna matata (no worries) – we’ve got another look below:

American artist Jeremy Keane refuses to return home and take over his father’s business. He’d much rather sample bevvies of beauties abroad, in search of a model for the provocative masterpiece he’s driven to paint. When he meets Lady Yvette Barlow at a London wedding, he realizes she’s perfect for his work—and determines to capture the young heiress’s defiant spirit and breathtaking sensuality on canvas.

No stranger to scandal, Yvette agrees to be Keane’s subject—in exchange for his help gaining entry to the city’s brothels he knows intimately–so she can track a missing woman and solve a family mystery. But when their practical partnership leads to lessons in the art of sinning, can they rise from the ashes of their troubled pasts to find a bold and lasting love?

So what do we think of the very naughty expression on Jeremy’s face? It sure would be nice to be Yvette at that moment, huh?

How many of us are eagerly awaiting this novel…and how many of us (however unlikely) have no idea who Jeremy is?

Blurb Reveal: WILDFIRE IN HIS ARMS by Johanna Lindsey

A few days ago I posted about the title for the upcoming Johanna Lindsey novel, Wildfire in His Arms, and now we have a blurb! YES!

#1 New York Times bestselling author Johanna Lindsey’s passionate new tale about a gunfighter running from his past who finds his future when he escorts a beautiful outlaw to her hanging. Featuring one of Lindsey’s most intriguing heroes: the dangerous and mysterious Degan Grant from One Heart to Win.

With his work in Montana completed now that the Callahan-Warren feud has ended in marriage rather than bloodshed, Degan Grant sets out for California because it is far away from the home he wants to forget—until the US Marshal who saved his life calls in a favor. All Degan has to do is apprehend three outlaws on the marshal’s list and turn them over to the law. Easy enough, he figures, for a man no one wants to tangle with.

But then a bold young woman crosses his path. Maxine grew up so pretty and attracted so much unwanted attention in her Texas hometown that events spiraled out of control. She will try anything to escape the handsome, enigmatic gunfighter who intends to turn her over to a corrupt sheriff who will hang her instead of putting her on trial.

Saddled with a sassy, spirited young woman who insists she is innocent, Degan must hunt down a vicious killer and keep an old enemy at bay. But forced into intimate proximity with his beguiling prisoner, he finds his desire sparking into a wildfire of passion, and he can no longer deny that it is time for them to risk confronting their pasts so he can have a chance at a future with her in his arms forever.

After reading this blurb, I need to go back and reread One Heart to Win and refresh my memory as to who Degan is…I think he was the ranch-hand, but I can’t recall for sure. It’s just that this book was released two years ago, before Judith (The Anthony Malory’s daughter) got her novel in Stormy Persuasion and I started salivating about Jacqueline and The Bastard’s story. (Only Jaqueline could refer to her hero as “The Bastard” and get away with it, lol!)

But it’s always fun to reread a Johanna Lindsey novel, so I’m looking forward to reliving the adventure in One Heart to Win before Wildfire in His Arms releases in June 2015. 🙂

P.S: Sorry, no cover art yet, but I will hunt that down as soon as possible.

Blurb Reveal: ROCK HARD by Nalini Singh

T-Rex and Charlotte officially have a blurb! I’ve been waiting for their story ever since the couple was introduced in Nalini Singh‘s Rock Addiction (book one of the Rock Kiss series), and it looks like book three Rock Hard is going to belong to Charlotte and Gabriel (aka T-Rex)…YES!

In New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh’s newest contemporary romance, passion ignites between a gorgeous, sinfully sexy man who built himself up from nothing and a shy woman who has a terrible secret in her past…

Wealthy businessman Gabriel Bishop rules the boardroom with the same determination and ruthlessness that made him a rock star on the rugby field. He knows what he wants, and he’ll go after it no-holds-barred.

And what he wants is Charlotte Baird.

Charlotte knows she’s a mouse. Emotionally scarred and painfully shy, she just wants to do her job and remain as invisible as possible. But the new CEO—a brilliant, broad-shouldered T-Rex of a man who growls and storms through the office, leaving carnage in his wake—clearly has other plans. Plans that may be equal parts business and bedroom.

If Charlotte intends to survive this battle of wits and hearts, the mouse will have to learn to wrangle the T-Rex. Game on.

Any other eager T-Rex/Charlotte fans out there?

Also for those of you interested, there is an excerpt from Rock Hard on Ms. Singh’s blog.

Spotlight on THE SECRETS OF SIR RICHARD KENWORTHY by Julia Quinn

I missed the cover reveal for Julia Quinn’s upcoming novel, The Secrets of Sir Richard Kenworthy, so I thought I’d share my thoughts/predictions about this novel instead:

Sir Richard Kenworthy has less than a month to find a bride. He knows he can’t be too picky, but when he sees Iris Smythe-Smith hiding behind her cello at her family’s infamous musicale, he thinks he might have struck gold. She’s the type of girl you don’t notice until the second—or third—look, but there’s something about her, something simmering under the surface, and he knows she’s the one.

Iris Smythe–Smith is used to being underestimated. With her pale hair and quiet, sly wit she tends to blend into the background, and she likes it that way. So when Richard Kenworthy demands an introduction, she is suspicious. He flirts, he charms, he gives every impression of a man falling in love, but she can’t quite believe it’s all true. When his proposal of marriage turns into a compromising position that forces the issue, she can’t help thinking that he’s hiding something . . . even as her heart tells her to say yes.

Needless to say, the similarities between this cover and the cover for The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever are uncanny. Although, that is not necessarily a bad thing because both covers are beautiful and a nice change from the usual theme of portraying a hero or heroine on the cover.

Likewise, this story also revolves around, judging by the blurb, a Plain Jane heroine – again much like Miranda’s.

But I can only hope that The Secrets of Sir Richard Kenworthy showcases Ms. Quinn’s writing talent and well as Miranda’s novel. I have often thought of The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever as one of her foremost works – funny, romantic and able to break our hearts in a thousand little ways, Miranda’s story was definitely Ms. Quinn at her best!

Cover Reveal: The Immortal Who Loved Me by Lynsay Sands

I love randomly browsing the net which, while hell on my writing, lets me discover new gems like the cover for Lynsay Sands‘ upcoming Argeneau novel, with a tentative release date of February 2015, The Immortal Who Loved Me:

A few hours ago, Sherry Carne would have sworn that vampires didn’t exist. That’s before rogue immortals rampage through her store, leaving bloody chaos (literally) in their wake. The kicker comes when Sherry learns that one of the vamps on the bad guys’ trail may be her life mate. Her head says it’s impossible. The rest of her takes one look at Basileios Argeneau and has much more interesting ideas.

Whatever Basil expected in a life mate, funny, outspoken Sherry isn’t it. But mind-blowing chemistry and instinct don’t lie. They tell him something else, too—that Sherry’s connection to the immortal world goes deeper than she knows. And that she’s in the kind of danger only Basil can save her from—if she’ll just trust him, now and forever…

I think it’s a fun cover with some serious mancandy!

Do you love it, hate it or couldn’t care less?

Please Don’t Let This Be a Joke! (Nalini Singh Announces Bonus Book!)

Nalini Singh announced that she has written a contemporary rock star romance titled Rock Addiction releasing in September – SIX weeks to be exact! And because it is not April Fool’s Day – even though I really had my hopes up for that were-rabbit novel – I’m thinking it’s for REAL!

So despite the hectic morning between battling spiders and bees, I now have something to look forward to -well, other than packing and pre-shopping for my trip to California next week. 😀

And without further ado…here is the blurb!

A bad boy wrapped in a sexy, muscled, grown-up package might be worth a little risk…

Molly Webster has always followed the rules. After an ugly scandal tore apart her childhood and made her the focus of the media’s harsh spotlight, she vowed to live an ordinary life. No fame. No impropriety. No pain. Then she meets Zachary Fox, a tattooed bad boy rocker with a voice like whiskey and sin, and a touch that could become an addiction.

A one-night stand with the hottest rock star on the planet, that’s all it was meant to be…

Fox promises scorching heat and dangerous pleasure, coaxing Molly to extend their one-night stand into a one-month fling. After that, he’ll be gone forever, his life never again intersecting with her own. Sex and sin and sensual indulgence, all with an expiration date. No ties, no regrets. Too late, Molly realizes it isn’t only her body that’s become addicted to Fox, but her heart…

And if you’re a book blogger and would like an Advanced Review Copy of the novel, you can go to Nalini Singh’s blog to sign up and for more details.

Vlad’s Back, Baby! (aka Blurb Reveal)

So we finally have a blurb for Jeaniene Frost‘s Bound by Flames, the third and final book of the Night Prince series and it sounds like this is going to be one EPIC finale!

PLAY WITH FIRE, PAY THE PRICE…

Leila’s years on the carnie circuit were certainly an education. What she didn’t learn: how to be a vampire, or how to be married to the most famous vampire of them all. Adjusting to both has Leila teetering on a knife edge between passion and peril, and now the real danger is about to begin…

Vlad must battle with a centuries-old enemy whose reach stretches across continents and whose strength equals his own. It isn’t like Vlad to feel fear, but he does…for Leila, because his enemy knows she is Vlad’s greatest weakness. As friend and foe alike align against him—and his over protectiveness drives Leila away—Vlad’s love for his new bride could be the very thing that dooms them both…

I am so ready for this book, the only downside is knowing this is the end. First Cat and Bones, and now Vlad. Hopefully Ms. Frost continues to write more books in the Night Huntress World series and revisit some of these amazing, and very bad-ass, characters!

Who else is psyched for this book?

Cover Lover: SAY YES TO THE MARQUESS by Tessa Dare

Book two of the Castles Ever After series by Tessa Dare has a brand-spanking new cover, which was revealed last week! But if you were hiding in your hermit cave  like me and missed it, I thought I’d share the cover and the dose of coverlust on the blog. Here is the gorgeous cover for Say Yes to the Marquess!

Tessa Dare Stepback - Say Yes to the Marquess

The step back cover for Say Yes to the Marquess designed by the talented Alan Ayers.

After eight years of waiting for Piers Brandon, the wandering Marquess of Granville, to set a wedding date, Clio Whitmore has had enough. She’s inherited a castle, scraped together some pride, and made plans to break her engagement.

Not if Rafe Brandon can help it. A ruthless prizefighter and notorious rake, Rafe is determined that Clio will marry his brother—even if he has to plan the dratted wedding himself.

So how does a hardened fighter cure a reluctant bride’s cold feet?

● He starts with flowers. A wedding can’t have too many flowers. Or harps. Or cakes.

● He lets her know she’ll make a beautiful, desirable bride—and tries not to picture her as his.

● He doesn’t kiss her.

● If he kisses her, he definitely doesn’t kiss her again.

● When all else fails, he puts her in a stunning gown. And vows not to be nearby when the gown comes off.

● And no matter what—he doesn’t fall in disastrous, hopeless love with the one woman he can never call his own.

Is this cover beautiful or what?

Does This Count as a Blurb Reveal? Terry Goodkind’s SEVERED SOULS

Richard and Kahlan…pretty much the epitome of power couples in the fantasy genre…and one of them might be dying?!

After Terry Goodkind revealed on both his Twitter and Facebook feeds the teaser slogan for Severed Souls, my heart plummeted to the ground, and catapulted back into my throat.

“A hero will die.”

It was/is my fear that Mr. Goodkind’s pulling a Richard Castle/Nathan Fillion and killing his hero – Richard. But then, I started to calm myself down and thought about how the Sword of Truth universe has many heroes – and that maybe it’ll be one of the minor ones that I won’t miss seeing go.

And that was when Mr. Goodkind released the next teaser:

“Her hero will die.”

The second teaser was accompanied by the picture of the woman holding the bloody sword on the Severed Souls cover, which got me back to thinking that it might be Richard after all. But of course, some readers on the internet are more optimistic than myself and think it might be the husband of Magda Searus – the First Confessor – the Mr. Goodkind is referring too. And, gods, I hope they’re right!

I’ve spent the last few weeks trying to hunt down anything else I could find about this upcoming book, but only have a short teaser blurb and an excerpt (below) to show for my efforts. Which means that we all have to be impatient until this book releases on August 5th, 2014.

Teaser Blurb:

From the far reaches of the D’Haran Empire, Bishop Hannis Arc and the ancient Emperor Sulachan lead a vast horde of Shun-Tuk and other depraved “half-people” into the Empire’s heart, raising an army of the dead in order to threaten the world of the living. Meanwhile, far from home, Richard Rahl and Kahlan Amnell must defend themselves and their followers from a series of terrifying threats, despite a magical sickness that depletes their strength and which, if not cured, will take their lives…sooner rather than later.

Here’s a snippet from the previous novel, The Third Kingdom, which I initially thought was from Severed Souls because it was listed under the book on Goodreads, but a HUGE thanks to Tristan for catching my mistake:

Richard saw the point of a sword blade sticking out from between the man’s shoulder blades. He spun back toward Richard after throwing the woman out of the opening, ready to attack. It seemed impossible, but the man looked unaffected by the blade that had impaled him through the chest.

It was then, in the weak light from the fire pit off to the side, that Richard got his first good look at the killer.

Three knives were buried up to their brass cross-guards in the man’s chest. Only the handles were showing. Richard saw, too, the broken end of a sword blade jutting out from the center of the man’s chest. The point of that same blade stuck out from the man’s back.

Richard recognized the knife handles. All three were the style carried by the men of the First File.

He looked from those blades that should have killed the big man, up into his face. That was when he realized the true horror of the situation, and the reason for the unbearable stench of death.

I think I’m going to have a very hard time sleeping till this book is released.

Any heroic book deaths that have you panicked or made you crazy? We would very much like to know. Comment and share!
